Korpus V: DARKROOM

It has probably happened to many of us: someone turns on the radio, hears an unfamiliar piece of music – perhaps the announcement has already ended, perhaps there is not enough time to listen to the end – and is immediately captivated, without ever finding out what it was.

It also often happens that a tip for listening is passed on, or that you leaf through the programme booklet of a concert and – even before a single note is played – form an idea of what you will like and what you will not.

With Korpus V – Darkroom, Schallfeld ends the 2025 season with an experiment: a concert without a disclosed programme. Solo works and chamber music, new and older pieces – or rather, new music for those who don’t know it yet (or don’t recognise it).

A concert without a programme that invites us to explore whether we hear differently when we don’t know what we’re listening to.
