Spiegelungen I: Geometrien

For the first time, Ensemble NAMES – New Art and Music Ensemble Salzburg and Schallfeld Ensemble join forces in a special collaboration: a project for double ensemble featuring two world premieres written for the occasion.

On stage, the two ensembles face one another in a symmetrical, mirror-like configuration, using spatial and non-spatial structures alike as points of departure for sonic, relational, and performative explorations.

The program consists of two world premieres. Filippo Perocco’s new work engages with fragments, remnants, and moments of precariousness. Drawing on Robert Schumann’s letters from Endenich, the composition traces a movement toward a “zero point,” where what remains comes as close as possible to a musical essence. The second premiere is a multimedia composition by Sara Stevanović, exploring concepts such as similarity, correspondence, and the idea of an ideally balanced equilibrium on a musical level.
