This monumental work relates to the medieval taxonomy of nature into 4 kingdoms – animals\, plants\, minerals and fossils – by combining a musical performance with an installation of „living machines“\nThe sound of acoustic instruments fuses with noises produced by old domestic appliances\, thus creating a musical and mechanical meta-organism that animates an imaginary natural world and builds up to a bizarre and playful „noise-orchestra“ in the tradition of italian futurism.\nEnsemble Schallfeld presents the Austrian premiere of this extraordinary piece. The concert will take place on January\, 18th at 19:30 in the exhibition space of Freies Atelierhaus Schaumbad in Graz. Die Klänge akustischer Instrumente werden mit Geräuschen von alten Haushaltsgeräten verschmolzen\, es entsteht ein musikalisch-mechanischer Meta-Organismus\, der eine erfundene Natur zum klanglichen Leben erweckt und in der Tradition der italienischen Futuristen ein vergnügt-bizarres »Geräuschorchester« formt.\nDas Grazer Ensemble Schallfeld bringt dieses außergewöhnliche Werk erstmals nach Österreich. DESCRIPTION:[:de]Nichts bestimmt den Menschen so unmittelbar wie seine eigene Stimme. Innere und äußere Stimmen be-stimmen uns\, verfolgen uns\, sie verheißen Identität und Gemeinschaft\, verbinden Geist und Körper. In einem intermedialen Programm widmet sich Schallfeld der künstlerischen Seite der Stimme: sowohl physisch-real als auch auf metaphorische Weise sind Werke vertreten\, die besonders stark eine eigene\, »innere« Stimme aufzeigen. Mit Annette Schönmüller als Gastsolistin erklingen drei Stücke\, die als Hommage an Joan La Barbara\, eine der wichtigsten Stimmen der zeitgenössischen Musik\, gewidmet sind. In Auftrag gegeben wurden diese Werke durch die Wiener Vokalistin und Improvisationsmusikerin Claudia Cervenca\, die eine einge künstlerische Zusammenarbeit mit Joan La Barbara verbindet.\nAls instrumentale »Gegen-Stimme« im Programm wirken weitere drei Werke\, deren SchöpferInnen zu einer besonders starken persönlichen Handschrift gefunden haben: neben den freejazzig-saturistischen Klangexplosionen Franck Bedrossians steht Marko Cicilianis Arbeit mit Sampling und Computergame-basierten Kompositionsmethoden. Aber was wäre\, wenn wir unseren eigenen inneren Strom an Gefühlen\, Reaktionen\, Kommentaren „live“ mit anderen Positionen\, vielleicht sogar mit denen des Komponisten konfrontieren könnten? \nDas Ensemble Schallfeld schafft einen installativen Wahrnehmungsraum\, der Muster des Musikhörens und Konzertverhaltens hinterfragt und zum Neu-Entdecken von Neuer Musik einlädt. Anhand des Werkes „Periodes“ von Gerard Grisey\, das im Laufe der Performance aus mehreren klanglichen\, räumlichen\, medialen und inhaltlichen „Perspektiven“ durchmessen wird\, erfahren die Beteiligten unterschiedliche Hörhaltungen. DESCRIPTION:[:de]Als Ensemble in Residency\, einem Programm des EU-Netzwerkes Ulysses\, ist Ensemble Schallfeld bei impuls 2017 in vielfacher Weise aktiv: Zum einen arbeitet es mit Tutoren der impuls Akademie\, so etwa mit Agostino Di Scipio\, zum anderen tritt es\, angeregt durch einen Call for Scores\, mit den Jungkomponisten der Akademie in regen Austausch und wird auch einige ihrer teils speziell für das Ensemble geschriebenen Werke zur (Ur-)Aufführung bringen\, andere wieder im Rahmen von Leseproben studieren.\nSchallfeld formierte sich 2013 aus ehemaligen Studierenden des Klangforum Wien und hat sich seitdem rasch als feste Größe in der zeitgenössischen Musikszene Österreichs etabliert. Die jungen MusikerInnen stammen aus fünf verschiedenen Ländern und bringen ihren jeweiligen kulturellen\, professionellen und musikalischen Hintergrund in die gemeinsame Arbeit mit ein. Das Ensemble agiert als freies Solistenkollektiv\, das in verschiedenen Formationen auftritt und enge Zusammenarbeit mit Komponisten pflegt\, so u.a.
