Anahita Abbasi

Composer

Anahita Abbasi (1985) is an Iranian composer of acoustic and electro-acoustic music. She started Musical Education at the age of 8 and won various prizes in Music Festivals in Iran as a pianist. At 2005 she moved to Graz/ Austria to continue her musical studies. She has studied music theory with Clemens Gadenstaetter and composition with Beat Furrer and Pierluigi Billone in University of music and performing Arts Graz (KUG). She worked closely with Georges Aperghis, Franck Bedrossian, Philippe Leroux and Mark Andre. She is awarded several times from the association „ Die Gesellschaft der Freunde der Musik“ in Austria and also got the „ Arbeitsstipendium“ from the SWR experimentalstudio in Freiburg in 2014. Her music has been featured in various worldwide festivals in Austria, Holland, Germany, France, Hungry, Russia, Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Griechenland and Switzerland. She is one of the members of Austrian/Graz composers association „ die andere saite „ and also one of the founders of Ensemble and association Schallfeld (for Contemporary music and sound art) in Graz, Austria.
