Lorenzo Derinni
Violin
Born in Milan in 1986, Lorenzo Derinni received his Master summa cum laude in violin from the Conservatory of Milan under the guidance of Cinzia Barbagelata in 2009, studying composition at the same time. Currently he is studying with Gernot Winischhofer at Konservatorium Wien – Privatuniversitaet, and at Graz Kunstuniversitaet with Klangforum Wien. He has followed masterclasses with Bruno Canino, Karl Leister and Renèe Clemencic, taking part in summer courses with Enzo Porta and, in 2008-09, with Pavel Vernikov and Igor Volochine at the Violin Academy in Castel S. Pietro (Bologna). In 2011-12 he studied with Oleksander Semchuk at the Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola. From 2010 to 2012 he took part, after selection, in the “Aurora Chamber Music” International Masterclasses, with M.Fuchs, I.Ozim, R.Koelmann, S.Picard and V.Tretiakov. In 2013, he took part in the Luzern Festival Academy with Pierre Boulez and Ensemble Intercontemporain. Winner of several violin competitions, in 2009 he won the first prize in the 1st international competition “Puer Orchestra” in Tirano, the first prize in the 2ndnational competition “Crescendo in Musica” in Firenze in 2011 and, in 2013, the first prize in the 5th international competition Citta di Treviso in the contemporary music section, and the second prize in the solo section. He played in Italy and abroad during festivals such as “Jeunesses musicales de méditerranée”, “Giovani per tutti” (Auditorium Torino Lingotto), “Milano Musica”, “Traiettorie”, “Suona Italiano”. In 2012, as part of the string chamber orchestra “Camerata Vienna”, he had several concerts in Austria and a tournéein Spain. He has played for Rai-Radio1 and Rai-Radio3. He has played with Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Prometeo, currently is member of Microensemble and Schallfeld Ensemble.
