Lorenzo Derinni

Born in Milan in 1986, Lorenzo Derinni received his Master's degree summa cum laude in violin from the Conservatory of Milan under the guidance of Cinzia Barbagelata in 2009, studying composition at the same time. He obtained a Master's degree in Konzertfach at Konservatorium Wien – Privatuniversität, and a Master's in Performance Practice in Contemporary Music at Kunstuniversität Graz with Klangforum Wien. Between 2007 and 2012 he took part in summer courses and academies with Enzo Porta, Pavel Vernikov, Igor Volochine, and with Oleksander Semchuk at the Academy "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola. In 2013, he took part in the Lucerne Festival Academy with Pierre Boulez and Ensemble Intercontemporain. He was awarded first prize in the 2nd national competition "Crescendo in Musica" in Florence in 2011 and, in 2013, first prize in the 5th international competition Città di Treviso in the contemporary music section, and second prize in the solo section. In 2016, he received the Start-Stipendium from the Austrian Ministry of Arts and Culture. Besides playing with ensembles such as Divertimento Ensemble, Klangforum Wien, and mdi ensemble, among others, his primary activity since 2013 has been as member and co-curator of Schallfeld Ensemble, with whom he has performed at major international festivals and for numerous radio broadcasts throughout Europe.

Zwischen 2007 und 2012 Teilnahme an Sommerkursen und Akademien bei Enzo Porta, Pavel Vernikov, Igor Volochine sowie bei Oleksander Semchuk an der Akademie "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola. 2013 Teilnahme an der Lucerne Festival Academy mit Pierre Boulez und dem Ensemble Intercontemporain. 2011 erster Preis beim 2. nationalen Wettbewerb "Crescendo in Musica" in Florenz, 2013 erster Preis in der Kategorie zeitgenössische Musik sowie zweiter Preis in der Solokategorie beim 5. internationalen Wettbewerb Città di Treviso. 2016 Start-Stipendium des österreichischen Bundesministeriums für Kunst und Kultur. Neben Zusammenarbeit mit Ensembles wie Divertimento Ensemble, Klangforum Wien und mdi ensemble u.a., Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeit seit 2013: Mitglied und Co-Kurator des Schallfeld Ensembles, mit Auftritten bei bedeutenden internationalen Festivals und zahlreichen Rundfunkaufnahmen.
